DIY towel doll

It is generally accepted that a kitchen towel is needed to keep your hands clean and tidy. Not everyone considers it as a decorative element that can decorate the interior. However, a doll from a towel with its own hands looks unusual, original, able to add its own zest to the space of an apartment. Making it is not so difficult, and even a novice master can do it. For work you will need:

• fabric (preferably chintz) for the head and hands of flesh-colored;
• material for the top of the dress and scarf;
• lace;
• filler, for example, synthetic winterizer;
• ribbons no more than 1 cm wide for braids;
• elastic thread;
• a towel or waffle towel with an interesting pattern;
• tape for finishing a contrasting color;
• 2 black buttons for the eyes;
• 2 buttons for decoration;
• beads;
• black and red floss threads;
• bookmarked hair threads;
• sewing machine.

Important! The finished product will consist of a doll dressed in a dress, the bodice of which is made of chintz, and the hem is made of a cloth of a waffle towel, cut into 2 parts.

DIY towel doll - workshop

Now we will consider the main steps how to make a doll-holder for towels with your own hands:

• We print out the pattern and cut out the details on it.
• Handles and head are cut out of flesh-colored material.
• We sew tucks on the head.
• We sew the details of the pens and head so that small areas remain un sewn.
• We turn through the unwired parts of the part to the front side and stuff them with padding polyester
• Sew black little buttons on the eye.
• Stitch the head with handles along the neck line.
• We cut the bookmarked threads 50 cm long. Folding in half, sew to the head. We use the “back with a needle” seam and grab bundles of threads with about 6-7 pieces with each stitch.
• We braid the hair into braids, which we bind with ribbons, forming bows from them.
• Embroider the mouth and apply blush with acrylics. If you wish, you can draw funny freckles.
• For a bonnet, cut a circle with a diameter of 15 cm from yellow material.
• Bend the edges to the wrong side by 0.5 cm and sweep them.
• We mark with a pencil the location of the elastic gum (about 10 cm in diameter).
• We attach lace along the perimeter of the circle in a zigzag pattern, making folds or assemblies.
• On the marked line we sew the elastic elastic band.

Important! From a green ribbon we make a bow with which we decorate the resulting hat. At your discretion, you can use beads.

• We attach the cap to the hair.
• To make a towel for dolls, we take a towel cloth and cut it in half.
• At the top edge of each towel, we carefully assemble.
• We take the bodice details, fold them with the front side inward.
• We grind the neck and turn it on the front side, after which we sweep the neck along the edge.
• We sew the assembled edges of the towels to the bottom of one part of the bodice, while bending the allowances to the wrong side.
• We do the same with the second part of the bodice.
• Stitch the edges of the towel, connecting the okatas of the bodice details, while putting on the marking of the ribbon for the fastener.
• In the second part, the lower sections are folded inside out, sewn to the towel.
• The bottom of both towels is sewn in a hem seam.
• Sew buttons on the bodice under the loops, decorate them with the middle of the bodice.
• We sew a loop for attaching the doll so that it can be hung on a hook.
