If you still have patchwork fabrics, things, etc., do not rush to throw them away. You have probably seen patchwork quilts or quilts more than once. You can also make a rug for a child, a bath mat, almost anything. Such options are very good, because why spend fabulous amounts on what you can do with your own hands? Consider what can be sewn from shreds of furniture fabric, using concrete workshops and interesting ideas as an example.

Flap Products

You definitely have things in your house that are not worn or have lost their presentable appearance. They mainly go to rags or are thrown away. But do not rush to do this, since now you will find out what can be sewn from shreds of fabric.

Mat

This is a master class on the example of a rug, but the same thing can be done with a full-fledged blanket, simply increasing the size.

You will need:

• 66 squares of fabric of bright colors. The size of each box is 17.5 * 17.5 cm.
• From neutral cotton fabric, cut out squares measuring 12.5 * 12.5 cm. There should also be 66 pieces. They will go inside out.

What to do with this abundance of squares:

1. Fold the big and small square from the inside, bend the corners and pin it with pins.
2. Turn the figure over to the front side, begin to form a “bubble”.
3. Lay the line around the perimeter, leaving a couple of centimeters free to then fill the “bubble”.
4. Fill it with a padding polyester, sew a hole.
5. Sew 6 “bubbles” together in a row on a sewing machine. As a result, you have to make 11 bands.
6. Now you need to connect all the strips together: pre-chop everything with pins, but if it's hard, put a basting.

This way you get the top of your rug. The left side of the carpet remains. To create it:

1. Take the soft fabric that you have chosen for the lining, such as mohair or fleece.
2. Stitch a frill to her.
3. Lay the lining and the top of the mat with the sides facing inward.
4. Stitch the two pieces together, leaving a hole for turning the mat around.
5. Turn out and sew a hole.

That's all, you should get a pretty rug measuring 1.10 m * 60 cm!

A blanket

1. Sew 4 patches at right angles. From the resulting part, cut a circle. Make such pieces a few pieces.
2. Make small circles from whole scraps. Workpieces even smaller than the first two are also needed.
3. Sew a light fabric lining into large and medium circles. Turn out a product.
4. In the middle of medium and large circles, stitch, bending the edges, the smallest blanks.
5. Attach your round flaps to the base.

Important! As a basis, you can take an ordinary blanket or plain blanket.

Potholders

Grips, of course, are not as comfortable as mittens, but they are also used. And they can be sewn from scraps of furniture fabric with your own hands:

1. Cut your shreds into the same rectangular stripes.
2. Sew the strips together. Iron the seams so that nothing sticks out.
3. Make two patchwork squares. Choose the size as desired. Squares can be either identical or different combinations of colors.
4. Cut batting into cut squares. If you don’t have one, use several layers of dense fabric.
5. Fold the patchwork squares facing each other.
6. Attach a batting and sew along the perimeter, leaving a piece unbroken to turn out the tack.
7. Sew the part where you did not sew.
8. Sew on the strap so that you can hang the product.
9. Sew the seam around the perimeter and pattern.

Your potholder is ready, now you can take hot dishes safely!

Cosmetic bag and wallet

Prepare the templates:

• Make a circle Ø 16.5 cm, a circle Ø 14 cm and a square with a side of 10 cm.

Important! A smaller circle and square should be cut out of plastic or hard cardboard.

• Cut the workpiece:
  • circle 16.5 - 19 parts from one main fabric;
  • a square - 19 parts from another main fabric and 19 parts from non-woven fabric.

We assemble, observing carefully the following instructions:

1. Assemble a large circle, the stitch is small, with an allowance of 3 mm along the edge. Leave the tails of the thread long so that the pattern can be pulled.
2. A small circle of cardboard is placed in the center of a large, sour from the inside. Tighten evenly, tightening the ends of the estimate. Iron, maintaining the shape of the part. Incising the mark, carefully remove the template and iron the part.
3. In the middle of the circle we put a square blank on the inside, iron the protruding edges of the circle per square.
4. We connect a square from another main fabric with non-woven fabric, put it into the workpiece and iron it. We fix the product with stitches, departing from the edge of 2 mm.
5. From the finished elements form a wallet or cosmetic bag.
6. From the fabric for the lining we cut a 42x52 cm rectangle. Fold it in half, sew the side seams with an allowance of 1 cm. The part is 40x26 cm. We measure 7 cm from each edge on the lower edge, form the folds, sew.
7. Fold the cosmetic bag or purse inside out. From the top we turn it 1 cm flush with the front side, fix it with pins and fasten it.
8. We sew the zipper by hand, fixing the two parts of the cosmetic bag, the end of the zipper (4 cm) should hang.
9. Sew the handle for the zipper (2 children), unscrew and cut the corner.
10. Iron by bending the edges inwards.
11. Insert the free end of the zipper and sew it up.

Here is such a hard, painstaking work you have to do to create a cosmetic bag or wallet. But the result will be definitely interesting, especially if you take beads or make embroidery as an additional decor.
