Classification

Horizontal

They are named so because of the horizontal arrangement of the lamellas. The width, thickness of the lamellas and the material of manufacture are different. Usually there are products of a neutral white color, but if necessary, you can find products of almost any color.

Vertical

This design is most often fixed over the window. Lamels are made of plastic or textile, oriented vertically. These blinds are fixed on self-tapping screws.

Roller blinds

They are made of fabric. If necessary, the web is rolled up using a special mechanism, or vice versa - deployed. Mount roller blinds on self-tapping screws, adhesive tape or on brackets. When installing this type of window decor, you can do without drilling walls (fastening with double-sided tape).

Preparation, marking

To properly install the blinds, the following tools are needed:

• Screwdriver. If not, you can use a conventional screwdriver.
• Marker, pencil.
• Roulette construction.

Fastening the blinds to the wall requires accurate measurements. Only in this case will the design function clearly. In addition, the curtain must be positioned strictly symmetrically with respect to the window pane. If the installation is carried out on adhesive tape, then if necessary, all flaws can be fixed.

When using self-tapping screws, before attaching the blinds to the wall, you need to carefully measure everything. Additional holes are by no means an adornment of design. To correctly fix the structure to the window, you need to make such measurements:

• The dimensions of the window opening.
• The distance to the bottom of the curtain.
• The interval between fixtures.

Important! If horizontal blinds are fixed on the window sashes, it is still necessary to measure the dimensions of each of the glasses. To the result, add 5 mm of margin on the sides and 20 mm for the upper and lower edges.

How to fix vertical blinds to a wall?

The installation procedure is as follows:

• Mark the center point of the window, which is flush with the center point of the cornice.
• Mark the places for fastening screws on both sides (5-6 mm closer to the center point of the window).
• Prepare the holes for the dowels, fix the bracket.

Important! When drilling holes, be careful not to split a part of the wall. In addition to the bracket, you can fix the cornice structure on the screws to the ceiling or wall.

• After the cornice is mounted, hang the lamellas, insert the sliders and attach the chain for regulation.

Important! Mount the lamellas in the same order as they are in the box. This applies to vertical curtains, which are printed.

How to fix horizontal blinds to the wall?

Installation of horizontal products is somewhat more time-consuming, but if you strictly follow the instructions, you can cope with this wisdom without difficulty:

1. Install the upper fasteners with a screwdriver. First drill holes in the wall, and then fix the bracket.
2. Hang the cornice, securing it until it clicks.
3. Drill holes for the bottom mounts.

Important! Self-mounting of a structure with horizontally oriented slats should be done with maximum accuracy. The slightest error in the initial measurements or a flaw in the installation, and the whole structure will work incorrectly.

Rolls

In the case of roller blinds, there are several mounting options:

• On self-tapping screws. This method is practically no different from that already described.
• On duct tape.
• On the sash.

Interframe curtains

Apply this option for double-glazed windows. The disadvantage of this method is that the integrity of the window profile cannot be avoided. It is necessary to drill at least 2 holes for the output of the control cord and handle.

Do-it-yourself installation of blinds on a plastic window is done to the top of the inner casement. The bracket is mounted directly to the upper profile. The principle is the same as with conventional horizontal blinds.

The procedure for installing the interframe curtain is as follows:

1. Unroll the window.
2. Attach the blinds to the inner casement.
3. Mark the mount. Mark the points for the output of the control handle and cord.
4. Drill holes approximately 0.5 cm in diameter.
5. Insert the brackets into the calipers.
6. Bring out control handles with cords. Pull out the cord through the hole located below.
7. Fasten the inter-frame blinds to the sash using special inter-frame brackets.
8. Install the adapter on the frame, connect the control handle to the flexible terminal. Install the clip for the cord and control handle.
9. Twist the window frame.

Blinds are a simple unpretentious design. But in order to extend their service life, you need to follow simple rules:

• When buying a set of blinds, check the equipment and equipment (especially the fasteners). All accessories must be of high quality and sound.
• Pay attention to the location of the control gear. It should be comfortable for you.
• Do not open the window if the blinds are not completely folded.
• The most practical design is plastic. Caring for plastic is most convenient.
